If you read my last Never Been Styled post, you would know that I have a new body type to get used to dressing. The funny thing is that even before birthing my child, I didn’t have any clue how to dress my smaller body either. I wanted to take a look at some childhood nostalgia, as well as some newer content that has been encouraging me to think outside of the box.

I mean, don’t we all remember the Early 2000’s Disney era where everyone was layering their clothes, seemingly at random? Did “we” as a society suddenly decide that wacky layering wasn’t cool anymore? Did the world become NO FUN?

I’m finding the light y’all. Inspired by the wonderful Joob YouTube channel (see here) and her stellar styling, I’ve decided to take a page out of her book and LAYER. Look at that thumbnail! That is what I am drawing my inspiration from today.
Layering Time
Using items in my closet that I have not worn in so long (or at all), I am going the sustainable route to get my outfit underway. Sometimes you need to take inspiration from others to confidently put together a banging outfit.

I haven’t worn this green dress in a long time, but always had a hard time letting it go. Pairing that dress with my black and white star cardigan and fishnets made this dress wearable and my style! Look at my face! Don’t I look super happy?
Layering also applies to accessories and even makeup. I paired my outfit with different sized rings and two different length necklaces to tie everything together. Not to mention, you can never go wrong with a black eye shadow look.

While this outfit seemed pretty easy to put together, I don’t want to stop challenging myself to do even more. If it makes me happy, why not wear it? Why not work on putting outfits together that push my boundaries? I am resolved to keep trying to show up for myself fashionably. This is all a work in progress… a learning process. Just need to do it.
